I just realized, months after reading the book, that it isn't so strange to be a NASCAR fan and a Deadhead. Phil used a "NASCAR fuel filler hose" in reference to a description of something in the book, and we know he enjoys racing, as he mentioned going to the F1 race as a highlight of their first European tour.
Thanks for stopping by. I miss you too. I am only coming on line about once a week, and am stuck with 10 hr a month "free" dial up until I can get some finances going.
Thanks. Glad to be here. We're originally from Orange County, CA but have been living in Colorado Springs since July.

I would really like it if you posted something about DFW on the site blog here, if you would like. Please?

Good afternoon to you! I put the RSS widget with Greatful Dead Listening Guide on the front page, so I'm not trying to put it on the RSS feed box at this time. However, if there is something in the settings that is preventing the feeds from being retrieved, please check it out and fix it if you can, in case someone else wants to use the feed box.
I think he just needs to update his feedburner URL, though, or the problem has something to do with the feedburner site.

I forgot to answer your other question. The term did not come from Barlow, it was actually coined by a friend, but it has often been implied in some of Barlow's lyrics and more of his essays that he wrote for Playboy and National Review. Jerry was even better at expressing the complete philosophy. The characters in Wharf Rat and Loser might seem to have tragic lives, but they transcended mortal existance as expressed in their optimism and hope.
The name and the foundation of Deadhead Libertarian Phenonemalogical Pantheism sprang from listening to the Grateful Dead while reading Carlos Casteneda, The Tao, The Bible, Gudeot-Escher-Bach, Joseph Campbell, and a myriad of other books on philosophy and religion.

I could have made that all easier to understand if I had just written "it celebrates freedom of the mind, body, and Spirit."

What is "Deadhead/Libertarian/Phenonemalogical Pantheist? If you are one you already know it.
It is a real religion (not organized as mainstream) that combines the elements of spirituality from the Dead's music with the spiritual and social philosophy of Libertarianism and applies it to Phenomenalogical Pantheism, which says that reality is relative and everything is part of God. It takes individualism and personal freedom to the level of all existance. Every element, "Deadhead," "Libertarian," and Phenomenalogical Pantheist ties into the Whole of the Idea.
It's complicated, but simple--you know if you are one.
The picture is new. I just took it yesterday, using a tripod and self tmer. I like the idea of the traveling Phil Lesh autobiography. Let's give it a try.
Holy heck, look what I just found: The Mickey Hart Band, recorded just the day before yesterday in NYC. Kyle Hollingsworth, the keyboard player is from the String Cheese Incident. Go figure.
