Before he began his musical career as a session drummer, at the age of 14, Mitch Mitchell had already made a name as a child actor on the BBC TV series Jennings at School and in several feature films. In 1966, he began making Rock and Roll history when he joined bassist Noel Redding and Guitarist Jimi Hendrix in the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Wednesday, November 12, after completing an 18 city American tour with the Experience Hendrix concert series, Mitchell passed away in Portland, Oregon, while on vacation before returning to England. It is reported he died of natural causes. He was the last surviving member of the legendary rock trio.

I wonder how different the music scene would be today if it hadn't been for Hendrix, Redding, and Mitchell?
