The Vigilante BandIf you haven't heard of The Vigilante
Band, don't feel ignorant, it only means you haven't been at the
right place at the right time. The band has been in existence since
1975, and plays what is now referred to "Alternative Country" and
Bluegrass, in the traditional style. The band was formed by members
of the student body of New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico in
1975, and still makes semi-regular appearances around the
Southwestern United States. The members of the band are pretty much
spread out throughout the United States in their various jobs,
which, when they get together, makes them a true Jam Band. More
information on the
History of The Vigilante Band, can be found by
clicking on that hypertext, or by going to their
web
site. This show is presented with permission from the band, and
with the help of madking, to whom we give thanks. The original
material is copyright of The Vigilante Band, and the cover songs
are copyright of the original authors. The original songs that I
know of include Track 1 "Past The Point of Rescue, Track 6 "Lucky
Lucky Me" (actually written for Prairie Fire), and the first part
of track 8, "Short Song." Please respect the copyrights. This
recording is from the CD "The Vigilante Band Live--Limited Area
Tour 1999," which is available for a very reasonable price that
includes shipping and handling, at the band's web site.
