"The Music Never Stopped"

I'm starting a thread where we can comment on something we heard that we like or don't like, songs on the main page, or on our own pages, suggestions for songs on the main page, and overall music discussion. Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? Beuller?....

For example, Clance' sort of suggested "Scarlet Begonias" so that's added to the music player just for her. From Telluride August 15,1987

Blues Traveler plays the July 4 concert at Red Rocks every year, and has been doing so since 1990. I haven't gone to any of them, because the tickets are pricey, and they usually share the billing with bands I don't care much for. But they do jam pretty good, and after listening to the 2008 July 4 show, I just might find a way to get up there next year. The show begins a little "loud," even raucious, but after the "Star Spangled Banner" it starts getting good and gets even better. The seamless sets are totally seamless in every sense of the word.

Even though they are represented by a major record label, they not only give permission for taping and sharing, they even thank those who do so.

What part of colorado, and why do I have to watch what I do? I've never been able to do that. Do you think you could talk some of our other friends into signing up here? I sent invites to dutchie and pargas, but they may be skeered.

Just added a couple of Drew Emmitt Band "Bluegrass" pieces--"This House" and "Sylvanite" -- Something for madking to listen to while he is beating the dead horse.
This is one of those bands that the more you listen to them, the more you like, or that is the way it seems for me, if not you. They do some of the best accoustic jamming I've heard, and they do go electric once in a while.

Holy Sheet, I'm listening to the Dead Concert at the Ark April 23, 1969. Incredible. The tracks are not available in mp3 format so go to Archive.org to hear what I'm so excited about.

Hey, check this out. The Grateful Dead, July 16, 1966 at the Fillmore Auditorium. Featured by Arkstar on his blog, the Grateful Dead Listening Guide. Thanks, Arkstar.

This really isn't what you may expect, but it is really fun listening, imo.

On the question of what is considered "distribution," from what I understand about copyright laws, we are legal here. I think that we, as a non commercial use, along with the fact that you cannot download from the mp3 player (per my site settings), able to consider uploading music to the players on your individual pages as just listening to your music with somebody else in the same room, if they choose to listen to it. If it is distribution, it is very limited, and I do not expect there to be legal issues in this use, just in case anybody is wondering. As site administrator, the responsibility falls on me, if there are issues.

That being said, let's hear some Zappa, some Phish, and some Allman Brothers Band here. Don't be shy.

I never need to hear "Tom Sawyer" by Rush, ever again. It's the one song in my history that ever caused me to throw the lp across the room because of overexposure.

I actually smashed the only LP by Cheap Trick I ever owned. Usually I could get by the overexposure of a song, if I don't hear it for a while. but they never stopped playing "I Want You To Want Me."
Even now, I would rather listen to an hour of Megadeath than five minutes of Cheap Trick.
